Staying Home Around the World
We are all in this together.
One thing that this pandemic has taught us is that what may happen in one part of the world, can effect everyone and completely change the way we live our lives. Now, more than ever, it is important to understand our interdependence with one another, no matter our gender, race, class or background. We must all take care of one another and our community around us, stay connected with loved ones and cherish life’s simplest pleasures.
We hope from this we all learn.
We hope from this we all made profound realisations on what is most important.
We hope from this we all took a moment to stop, so that once this is all over we can return to our normal lives with greater appreciation and love.
We touched based with some of our favourite PALM women to share light on their situation and how they are isolating around the globe.

I have perfected my skin routine, I always feel like a new person afterwards, repeating this as I start my day & before I sleep. Walking/riding my bike/ playing tennis is also a key element of my routine right now. I am isolating in… I am isolating in my home in London.
I am isolating with… With my boyfriend, the love of my life.
My quarantine essentials are… Without a doubt it is my iPad. I’m normally not very often on my phone because I end up being on Instagram more than I should (and no, the daily reminder dost not work let’s be honestttt) so I’m using my iPad as a source to keep me well informed by watching/reading the news, talking to friends and family, escaping through YouTube or Amazon Prime and learning about things that make me happy.
My iso home routine is…I normally don’t do much on my days, the most regular thing I’m doing ATM is taking french classes three times a week with my sister and a teacher from Canada through Skype which is very good... the rest really depends on my mood, it can go from working out, doing a 1000 pieces jigsaw puzzle, reading about the environment, Netflix, checking the news, going grocery shopping once a week, doing yoga, drinking tea, watching the sunset, bothering a lot my boyfriend while he plays Call of Duty... basically distracting my mind a bit from the reality of this really heavy thing that’s happening on the outside world.
My self-care regime is…The most important thing to me at the moment is taking care of my mental health in a sense of not getting crazy about not being able to work normally by reming myself that there is a historic moment happening and I have zero control about it. For that, I appeal to heavy sessions of power yoga and combat classes from YouTube, taking my time to do body and skin care, drinking a lot of ginger tea and writing what goes through my head on the notes app or my notebook.
My exercise regime is… One thing that’s making happy in the lockdown is the freedom to workout whenever I want! I discovered yoga when I was 17 and been practicing it ever since but now doing it more frequently I can see my body reaching the flexibility I had before which makes me super excited. There’s a lot of power yoga happening along with HIIT classes and Body Combat classes. All from YouTube. YouTube is great.
The home essentials keeping me calm are…The home essential keeping me calm on this lockdown is definitely my diffuser, It’s always on with a few drops of tangerine essential oil inside.
Home loungewear, active wear, or workwear? I’m not one for wearing active wear if not actually working out so I tend to rely on the weather: on cold days like today, definitely some heavy loungewear with socks and all but on warmer days (yayyy) my usual go to is my boyfriend’s shirt or even lingerie hahahaha!
Homemade cooking or Takeaway Eats? Me and my boyfriend are naturally cooking at home more often as it’s something we’ve always wanted to do and would blame the lack of time. Ordering food too much leads to the consumption of a lot of disposables which is something I avoid to my max. BUT there is of course some nasty Pizza Hut or Five Guys orders every once in a while lol.
Person I’ve missed the most…Right before lockdown I was lucky enough to be able to move houses and was really excited because I’d be living close to my friends. But Covid-19 happened and since then I haven’t seen my friends which are basically my neighbours so I miss them a lot.
My favourite local business is …Like I said before I’ve just moved houses so I have yet to discover around and I’m very excited to do that once lockdown is over.
The first flight I’m booking after lockdown is… It’ll be to Morocco for sure. I’ve been planning a birthday trip with my girlfriends since December and it never happened :( so what we decided is we’re going to celebrate all our birthdays whenever this trip happens hahah! Amen!!!
My favourite summer film to escape is… I don’t normally watch films that often, I’m more of a series/documentaries person. So my scape serie is definitely The Office US! I always catch my self watching it over and over again and still laughing at all the jokes.
The apps keeping me sane right now are… YouTube, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Ribon, Notes and furniture shopping apps as I just moved houses hehehe.
The recipe I can’t stop cooking in isolation is… I try to cook different stuff every day basically working with what I have in the fridge. I love doing breakfast things so you’ll find me doing smoothies, pancakes, basically putting almond butter everywhere, also salads, pastas and this will sound odd but I’ve been making kale chips with different seasonings ALL THE TIME hahaha.
The thing I value most from this experience is… It’s impossible to value just one thing from this historical moment. I value a lot the roof I have over my head, my quarantine partner, the public health system, the enormous break we’re currently giving to the earth’s resources, my family being secure and safe at home in Brazil... so many things! And speaking about value, I believe we should all take some time and reflect about how we have been living our lives until this point, remember every action has an effect and try to be better people for the environment, ourselves and the people around us.
